About Us

At Garfield County RWD #6, our goal is to provide the safest, cleanest water possible to our members. The District spans the majority of Eastern Garfield County, the Western edge of Noble County, and the Southern edge of Grant County. It consists of approximately 600 miles of pipe, 6 stand pipe water towers, 2 booster stations, and approximately 600 customers. At inception, it was called Hunter Rural Water. A restructuring took place, and was then called Kay County RWD #6. Having no facilities in Kay County, this prompted the final name change to Garfield County RWD #6.

Garfield County RWD #6 also operates and maintains a purchase water system called Salt Fork Water Authority. This is a separate, purchase water system from the City of Enid that begins near Koch Fertilizer, East of Enid. Salt Fork Water Authority supplies water to the towns of Fairmont, Covington, and Douglas, as well as various customers along the way to those towns.
